The film’s superior cutting performance makes it ideal for
lettering, texts and logos on windows, signs and vehicles
Diversified technology company 3M has announced a new addition to
its range of Electrocut Films for varied indoor and outdoor
applications such as non-illuminated signs and fascias, vehicle
markings and window graphics. Scotchcal Opaque Graphic Film Series
80 from 3M presents converters and signmakers with an excellent
quality, highly durable and competitively priced coloured cast film.
Optimised for electrocut conversion, Scotchcal Graphic Film Series
80 is specifically designed for surfaces and substrates including
paint, aluminium, glass-reinforced plastic (GRP), acrylic, glass and
steel, and conforms to simple curves, rivets and corrugations. Its
50 micron thickness and lay flat paper liner allows for easier
handling and superior cutting and weeding performance, which reduces
set-up time, waste and labour resources. In addition, the permanent
pressure sensitive adhesive enables accurate graphic positioning for
optimised installation time and costs. The adhesive’s clear bond
presents the same appearance on both sides making it suitable for
windows and other glass and acrylic surfaces.
The film has the durability to last up to 10 years and can be
removed with heat. It is available in 84 colours, incorporating matt
white, matt black, eight metallic colours and a spectrum of the most
frequently requested colours. In addition, Pantone references are
available on 33 colours.
Scotchcal Graphic Film Series 80 replaces the existing Scotchcal
Graphic Film Series 70 as a long-term, cast film in the range. It
joins Scotchcal Opaque Graphic Film Series 100, the ultimate premium
cast film offering best in quality, performance and durability, and
the two promotional, calendered monomeric films for short to medium
term applications, Scotchcal Graphic Film Series 50 and Scotchcal
Graphic Film Series 30. These are available from 3M primary
stockists William Smith and Spandex.
