Crown Paints is to launch a pioneering sustainability initiative at
Ecobuild – which gives clients the ability to analyse their carbon
footprint when selecting the company’s products.
The UK-based manufacturer has produced a measurement tool that will
transform the delivery of environmental information for all its
clients, but one which will be of particular interest to specifiers
and contractors.
Exact details of the scheme are under the wraps until the event, but
Crown Paints say they are confident their initiative will have a
profound effect - giving those clients requiring reassurance when
specifying paint the support they need to ensure they meet their
sustainability goals.
Vernon Kinrade, Crown Paints’ Specification Sector Support Manager,
said: “This measurement tool represents a major step forward in our
industry sector.
“We’ve chosen Ecobuild as the location for its launch as it is the
natural platform from which to reach out to those interested in the
sustainability agenda.”
Ecobuild takes place Tuesday 1st March to Thursday 3rd March 2011 at
ExCel, London.
Bookings are now being taken for exclusive face-to-face
consultations, where Ecobuild visitors can talk through the carbon
measurement initiative at the Crown Paints’ stand – number S651 -
with one of the company’s sustainability experts.
To book a face-to-face consultation please use email below quoting ‘Ecobuild Launch.’
Further information will also be available via a podcast, which will
be prepared live from Ecobuild and released by Crown Paint’s on
iTunes during the event at http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/crown-paints/id417711705.
This launch is the latest innovation from Crown Paints – and its
most significant to date – in a bid to deliver a more sustainable
approach across all areas of its business.
Other initiatives include the can back scheme – developed to reduce
the amount of empty paint containers going to landfill.
After cleansing, some containers are re-used, while others are
recycled into new products, packaging or components such as high
density plastic benches. This recycled furniture is introduced where
paint projects have taken place – offering a long-lasting legacy to
the local community where Crown Paints’ products have been
specified.
Crown Paints is also working with The Carbon Neutral Company on a
number of carbon offsetting projects including the restoration of
forests, the development of wind power and waste heat transfer.
