Lafarge Plasterboard is launching a new multipurpose gypsum board,
GTEC LaDura, that offers outstanding sound, fire, impact and
moisture performance. The board, which contains 8% mass of
responsibly-sourced wood fibres is fully recyclable , offers
outstanding impact, fire, moisture and fire performance and provides
far superior finishing options than other boards on the market.
GTEC LaDura, the latest innovation in the GTEC Performance range of
boards, lives up to its name by being stronger, harder and heavier
than standard plasterboards due to its high density and hard wood
fibres.
GTEC LaDura is ideal for use in high impact areas such as schools
and hospitals, can be used for timber frame construction and is
capable of withstanding heavy point loads for severe duty walls.
Used extensively throughout Europe, Ecobuild, the world’s biggest
event for sustainable design, construction and the built
environment, will see the official launch of this outstanding board
solution to the UK market.
Simon Scrase, Product Manager comments: The launch of GTEC LaDura is
a real milestone for our UK business, providing a truly
differentiated board solution for our customers. Its extensive
success throughout Europe makes this a very exciting proposition for
Lafarge Plasterboard which will deliver real and measurable benefits
to a wide range of the construction market”
The launch is just one feature of Lafarge’s presence at this year’s
Ecobuild. The company will also be bringing together all three UK
business units, Plasterboard, Cement and Aggregates & Concrete to
highlight its universal commitment to sustainable construction and
development.
This will be demonstrated by a unique structure on the Lafarge
feature stand, N1040, a spiral based on the Fibonacci sequence,
incorporating products from all business units and forming a
physical representation of Lafarge’s story of successful
sustainability.
Lafarge Plasterboard will be unveiling the new GTEC LaDura at the
Ecobuild show (1 – 3 March 2011) on Stand 1050, with technical
experts on hand to answer questions and demonstrate its application
in more detail.
