Logwise, the official agents for Honka log homes from Finland will
be appearing on “HOW TO...Reduce Energy Consumption and Save Money”
a television documentary. Part of the massive “HOW TO ...Go Green”
series.
Logwise, who also design their own range of bespoke timber
buildings, took part in the TV series which will be broadcast across
Sky TV, BBC and ITV Freesat networks on Tuesday 15th of March at
7:30pm and Sunday 20th March at 6:00pm.
The programme is centred around the work of The Energy Saving Trust,
who are the UKs leading organisation set up to try and prevent
climate change by helping people to cut their carbon dioxide
emissions from their homes and transport.
Logwise and Honka buildings use wood as a primary construction
material - offering invaluable sustainable qualities. The timber
absorbs and releases moisture within a building, naturally
controlling humidity. Its structure acts on thermal changes by
restoring heat or coolness to control the inside temperature as well
as possessing anti-static qualities.
Honka log homes are proven to be 50% more airtight than the average
log home and this equates to an annual saving of around 20% on
heating bills. With the introduction of HonkaFusion(TM), Logwise now
offer a low energy house solution. Rob Clarke, Managing Director of
Logwise said “We know from experience that people who live in houses
made largely from wood tend to feel healthier and much of this is
down to the air inside the log home. In addition to being energy
efficient, a wooden house promotes optimum health.
He continued “It was great to be involved with such an important
series. We all know that in order to protect and preserve the
environment we need to make some changes and think about the effect
our homes are having. Honka and Logwise homes utilise the latest
environmentally friendly innovations, and professional construction.
These homes will last for centuries.”
