“There are three Dimensions to the ultimate security scenario” says
Jeremy Terry, Meesons Managing Director “The first dimension is
access control, installed to ensure only people with the correct
card and pin can enter a building/area. The second dimension is CCTV
which is employed to monitor and record events. The third dimension
is anti-tailgating. It is only when this is in place that we are
able to ascertain exactly who has been in a certain area and when,
because we know who ‘should’ be entering and we can review who WAS
in the area after an event has been reported”
There is a great deal of reliance on the first two dimensions;
employee access card and code entry, and CCTV. The third dimension
is anti- tailgating, but how often have we seen a door kept open
allowing someone to follow in because it was assumed that the person
behind was an employee? To counteract this we employ security guards
to monitor our access control systems because no matter how many
rules and regulations are put in place there is no accounting for
people’s nature. Today, there is an increasing risk of
‘undesirables’ piggybacking on an ‘approved entry’ and once inside
the building becoming a real threat to both people and property and
while CCTV may record the happenings, wouldn’t it be better if they
had not got in at all?
Meesons are the leading exponents to the dangers of tailgating for
today’s highly sensitive business and operational environments and
work with many of the UK’s leading companies in delivering access
control solutions. They are one of the few companies to offer a
complete range of access control systems; including waist height and
full height turnstiles, automated security glazing, security portals
and 3d recognition and Biovisual body mass analysis systems.
Meesons will again be exhibiting at Data Centre World and Expo and
can be found on stand B72, where they will be demonstrating
their ‘easygate SG’ turnstile and the highly successful FJP140/2S
security portal, ideally suited for all types of applications where
access control is vital to safeguard people and property.
