Hackney's ambitious project to develop Clissold Park and restore the
historic Clissold House continues to make good progress. CED Ltd
have been awarded the contract to supply Yorkstone for the hard
landscaping area around the house. The park is a former country
house and estate that was first opened to the public in 1889.
Clissold House is of great historical importance and is a Grade II
listed building.
Calum Fraser Commercial Manager for CED Ltd said "We are very
excited to be involved with a project of such historical
significance. With their careful choice of natural stone, the
Contractor Mansells clearly support Hackney Councils vision to
redevelop Clissold House and Park an an aesthetic manner. They have
considered the sensitivity of the building's original 19the century
design when choosing the natural stone materials."
The restoration project will return the Park and House to their
former glory. Clissold House will include a new café with improved
access for disabled people, beautifully restored function rooms and
smaller meeting rooms for private hire and community use.
Restoration to Clissold House is due to finish this summer.
