IDEAL STANDARD INTERNATIONAL Unveils e-Vision, Bringing The
Digital Age Into The Bathroom
Intuitive, personalised digital networking platform and
control system for the bathroom already wins prestigious design award at ISH
Ideal Standard International, the leading bathroom solutions provider, today
unleashed a new era in digital networking into the bathroom with the
introduction of e-Vision, a highly advanced technological platform and
unique bathroom control system, under its luxury brand Jado.
Delivering on its vision of bringing the digital age into the bathroom, Ideal
Standard International is introducing e-Vision, a platform for “digital
intelligence”, offering consumers greater functionality, a trendy design and
savings whilst at the same time providing unprecedented levels of comfort and
ease of use. The first application of e-Vision is showcased at ISH with a
futuristic electronic fitting and shower kit solution which will become
available in September 2011. Created by renowned design house Artefakt, e-Vision
has already received industry recognition by winning the prestigious Design Plus
award at the 2011 ISH fair.
Unique patented technology and cutting-edge design
e-Vision was created for consumers with an eye for cutting-edge design and an
interest in trendy technological applications in their bathroom. This latest
innovation by Ideal Standard International is an industry first: the intuitive,
digital control system enables users to pre-program individual settings for
personalised water flow, volume and temperature with a simple touch from their
fingertips.
e-Vision’s patented opto-electronic technology enables variable settings and
reliable functionality even under the influence of water and moisture. For the
first time, this kind of tactile technology is used successfully in the bathroom
as the e-Vision distinguishes between a drop of water and a person’s touch.
Furthermore, the single, tactile control panel uses “button” and “slider”
elements, similar to that used in touch-screen mobile phones, giving it that
distinctive cool and trendy look.
“For Ideal Standard International, e-Vision really represents the
next-generation in bathroom solutions and fits perfectly with our vision of
bringing the digital age into the bathroom, creating a life space for pleasure
and relaxation,” explained David Hamill, Chairman Ideal Standard International.
“We’re very excited about this new innovation, which we think will revolutionise
the bathroom space and appeal greatly to consumers looking for cutting-edge
design, ultra-modern functionality and cool technology applications in their
bathroom.”
Great technological design for increased functionality and savings
Different users can immediately obtain personalised settings with a simple touch
of the screen. e-Vision offers enhanced safety via controlled temperatures and
enables users to consume less water and energy as they receive the perfect flow
and temperature almost immediately. However, e-Vision is designed to go much
further as it allows for the consolidation of data from water and electricity
supply systems to form one integrated control platform. This means that in the
future it could also act as the central control point for all items in the
bathroom including lights, all water controlled items (including taps, showers,
flushing), other digital applications or items that could be networked into the
control system (audio-visual systems, telecommunications etc). The platform can
also co-exist alongside the traditional mechanical platform in the bathroom.
A revolution in visual design
e-Vision has an ultra-modern design and the control pad graphics play an
important design and functional role replacing the traditional mechanical
controls in a bathroom and allowing for new product aesthetics with proven
functionality. “Artefakt is convinced that digital intelligence will become a
key technology for the bathroom in the future. As an integrated part of the
home, it will set completely new standards in energy savings and bring an
additional level of comfort for daily use. e-Vision clearly demonstrates that a
holistic reflection of the future no longer needs to offer electronics just for
the sake of electronics”, said Achim Pohl, Artefakt designer.
e-Vision represents a new generation of digitally intelligent products in the
bathroom. The state-of-the-art modern design, combined with ambient lighting
makes the panel look sleek and trendy. The virtually seamless surface of the
fixture also considerably reduces the need for cleaning. In addition, its
extremely compact, modularly constructed technology is located behind the
control interface, allowing for flexibility on individual design and
architectural requirements.
