There are still plenty of construction contracts for work related to
the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014 up for grabs.
According to the Herald, £300 million worth of jobs have yet to be
allocated, with much of this related to the athletes village.
A spokesman for Glasgow City Council said a "full range" of
construction-related agreements are to be made available, covering
everything from roofing and plumbing to electrical services.
More than 14,000 firms have registered their interest in taking up
some of the work necessary for the Games to take place.
Archie Graham, executive member for the Commonwealth Games at
Glasgow City Council, said: "The next few years will continue to
provide access to contracts and sub-contracts worth many millions of
pounds."
The event will run between July 23rd and August 3rd 2014, with
competitors representing a number of different countries attempting
to win medals in 17 different sports.
