Marley Plumbing and Drainage has further expanded its extensive product portfolio, with the introduction of a new acoustic soil and waste system, Marley dBlue.

As well as providing quick, hygienic removal of sanitary waste water, the triple layered pipe dramatically reduces the noise generated by the flow of water – making it perfect for multi-occupancy apartment blocks and high specification developments.

The result of extensive research and development, the system effectively reduces both airborne and structural acoustic vibrations to a level of 19dB. Within the pipework, the layered construction absorbs sound waves and reflects them inwards, significantly reducing the transmission of noise to the system’s surroundings, while an innovative pipe clamp limits acoustic vibrations passing into the building’s structure.

Each of the pipe layers has an individual function: the inner skin is resistant to high temperatures up to 90°C, while the central layer provides structural strength and noise reduction capabilities. This middle layer is formed using a specially developed material formula, which combines modified polypropylene with mineral fillers to deliver enhanced acoustic and mechanical performance. Finally, the outer layer provides exceptional impact resistance and protection against severe weather conditions.

The uniquely designed pipe clamps further reduce noise by suppressing vibrations within the system. A special body section containing three cushioned inlays provides a stable grip, eliminating the acoustic bridge between the downpipe and the building’s structure.
