BOTT Launches Bott Vario – A Lightweight, Modular In-Vehicle
Storage Solution With Sleek, Modern Aesthetics
Vehicle enhancement specialist Bott has launched bott vario, a lightweight
in-vehicle modular storage system. Suitable for installation in any vehicle
type, bott vario offers industry-leading functionality coupled with sleek,
modern aesthetics.
With bott vario, which is the result of a three-year multi-million pound
development programme, Bott has reduced weight across all components, and has
improved safety, modularity, ease of access and load security. Alongside these
benefits, the product has been given an attractive, instantly recognisable
modern design.
A combination of anodised aluminium, powder-coated, high-strength steel and
high-grade plastic gives bott vario its sleek appearance but also reduces weight
by 20 to 30 per cent, significantly increasing payload. The lightweight
construction also helps to retain precise road handling in critical situations,
and reduces fuel consumption.
Despite being lightweight, the highest levels of safety, durability and
stability have been achieved through the intelligent mix of materials and the
logical design of the components. Being robust, the product is designed to last
for many years. Safety is Bott’s top priority, and bott vario has been
successfully crash tested in accordance with ECE R44.
The improved modular design of bott vario results in the optimal organisation of
tools and equipment as well as ease of access, leading to shorter retrieval
times. The storage system can be completely aligned with the requirements of
different end users, and with a wide variety of depths, sizes and shapes on
offer, bott vario can be tailored to virtually every vehicle type, including
those from Citroën, Fiat, Ford, Iveco, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Peugeot, Renault,
Toyota, Vauxhall and Volkswagen.
Load security has been improved with bott vario’s practical and innovative
drawers, containers, boxes and shelving units, which can be locked securely into
place with user-friendly latching systems. Underfloor modules provide generous
storage space and quick access to tools and equipment, while allowing the floor
area to be kept clear for loading and securing other items. The range also
includes removable service cases and boxes, which are lightweight and have
ergonomic handles. When not in use these too can be safely secured.
Kevin Woodward, managing director of the Vehicle Enhancement Division of Bott,
said: “For people who use their work vehicles every day, sometimes the biggest
challenge is keeping tools and equipment organised, while ensuring that
everything can be accessed quickly and easily as well as safely secured when not
in use. Meanwhile, fleet managers are facing increasing pressure, for example
they need to ensure their vehicles aren’t being overloaded, and are having to
find ways to manage the rise in fuel costs.
“With the launch of bott vario we believe we have addressed these issues. We’ve
taken an innovative, solutions-orientated approach to design a product which
uses space efficiently yet offers stability, durability, safety and low weight.
And even though we’ve reduced weight by up to 30 per cent, bott vario still
meets stringent crash test standards.
“We’ve designed the system to be suitable for every vehicle type, and every
industry, as we know that each one has its own specialist tools and equipment,
and unique load securing requirements.
“And we believe bott vario’s exceptionally striking modern appearance sets it
apart from the function-orientated products that dominate the market, and will
help our customers to make a positive first impression.”
There are a range of accessory options for bott vario, including LED lights,
flat packed sack trucks and external work lamps, as well as a wide range of
vehicle lining and flooring solutions.
The range has already won two major European 2011 product design awards; an IF
Gold and the Red Dot Best of the Best. The product range is also GS marked.
Bott’s Vehicle Enhancement Division offers in-vehicle storage solutions,
ensuring that tools and equipment can be safely and efficiently organised,
transported and easily accessed when required. The company also offers bespoke,
specialist solutions. Further information can be obtained by calling 0845 330
