FORBO FLOORING SYSTEMS - Mapping The Route To Imaginative Flooring Design

Pupils at Clapham Manor Primary School have the whole of London at their feet, with the installation of an impressive A-Z street map floor design in the school’s new extension. The result of close collaboration between the school and flooring reseller, harveymaria®, the stunning design has been made possible thanks to Floorink, the revolutionary printed vinyl flooring from specialists Printed Space in partnership with Forbo Flooring Systems.

Specified as part of an ambitious extension project, the unique flooring design, which depicts the urban area of Clapham and other well-known London landmarks, contributed to the school being nominated for the coveted RIBA Stirling Prize last year and perfectly demonstrates the imaginative results that can be achieved using Floorink.

The innovative street map design was conceived by the school and Mark Findlay, Managing Director of Harveymaria, who supplied and installed the flooring. Looking for a design that was both fun and educational, the A-Z motif was chosen in order to stimulate the children’s spatial awareness and sense of ‘place’ within their local environment.

Excellent acoustic performance is achieved, up to 17 db, as well as outstanding print capabilities of six colour print at 600 dpi. Floorink is available in two metre widths for commercial applications and up to four metres wide for residential.
