TRIMETALS - Gain Easy Code Points With Protect A Cycle™

There’s a fast way for housebuilders to gain extra Code for Sustainable Homes points. Cycle storage earns up to two credits, and Protect a Cycle™ from leading manufacturer Trimetals provides a simple and easy-to-specify solution.

Although it’s not a mandatory requirement, Section Ene 8 of the Code aims to ‘encourage the wider use of bicycles as transport by providing adequate and secure cycle storage facilities, thus reducing the need for short car journeys’, and Protect a Cycle ticks all the boxes for homes with up to three bedrooms.

Protect a Cycle is the first and only secure bicycle store that has been achieved both key UK security standards; it’s tested and certified by the Loss Prevention Certification Board with LPS1175 Security Rating 1, and has also achieved the Secured By Design Police Preferred Specification mark.

The design features two stainless steel hasps with two high security padlocks (Sold Secure approved to silver standard), plus a heavy duty ground anchor (also Sold Secure silver approved) and high security cable (Loss Prevention Board tested). A patented spring-assisted opening action ensures complete and easy access to stored bicycles.

Fire resistant and constructed from robust PVC coated galvanised panels, Protect a Cycle includes an integral metal base with fixings for securing to concrete. Available in a choice of two tone green or all cream, it looks at home on any development. And for the user, it is maintenance free and comes with a 25 year panel guarantee.
