PILON Opens New Innovation, Training & Vetting Centre In London

PiLON, the building and refurbishment specialist headquartered in Bracknell, has opened a new Innovation, Training and Vetting Centre in Wembley, north London. An opening event on 6 May was attended by HE Dr. Ion Jinga, the Ambassador of Romania, Barry Gardiner, MP for Brent, and Harbhajan Singh, Mayor of Brent, who toured the building and observed training demonstrations.

The centre will be used for testing the skills of PiLON’s new operatives, including Health and Safety training, before they go on site. PiLON already has a substantial training programme in place for all its personnel, and the company wanted to ensure that the right standards are reached by all its 500-plus operatives. An important part of the centre is a workshop where practical skills such as plumbing, carpentry and plastering will be practiced.

Chairman Florian Moldoveanu said: “We want each of our operatives to provide the best possible service to our clients – hence we’re launching our own training centre. We believe strongly in developing our people and giving them all a chance to achieve their potential and progress within the company.”

The PiLON Innovation, Training and Vetting Centre will operate full-time and will be managed by Adrian Solomei, Divisional Manager of PiLON.

PiLON was awarded the Investors in People standard in July 2010, and was a finalist in the Specialists Awards, training category, 2011.
