MARLEY PLUMBING AND DRAINAGE 2011 Strategy

Following a period of strategic review, Marley Plumbing and Drainage has refocused its commercial operation and brand strategy for 2011 onwards.

The company has spent considerable time conducting a full analysis of the direction and scope of Marley, and in particular brand perceptions, objectives, application and target sectors.

A new brand strategy has been developed as part of the strategic review. The brand strategy objective is to build upon the outstanding reputation and heritage of Marley whilst focusing resource on establishing Marley Plumbing & Drainage as the leading brand for specifications and projects in its target segments, clearly supporting its product leadership strategy.

“This period of review has enabled us to take stock of the brand strengths and help to reaffirm our long term view for the company, increasing Marley’s market share whilst helping to grow and support our customers,” comments Kevin Williams, Brand Director at Marley Plumbing and Drainage.

“Clearly, having a consistent brand strategy throughout the business and at all levels will provide clarity of who the company is, what we offer in terms of products, systems and services, all the while helping to reinforce identified elements of Marley’s offer.”

Marley has been focused on new product development and as such, 2011 sees a range of new product launches throughout the year, all supported by experienced technical design back up and support, ensuring the right product is always specified for the application.

Marley’s extensive product portfolio now includes an extension to its soil and waste product range with Akatherm HDPE Drainage, along with the introduction of a new acoustic soil and waste system, Marley dBlue.

Marley Akatherm HDPE is a drainage system that is manufactured to meet high standards of durability and reliability, offering an alternative solution to cast iron. It is particularly suited for commercial applications or where a product with high impact or abrasion resistance is required, such as hospitals, hotels, schools, as well as residential buildings. HDPE will also cope with temperature variations of -40°C to 100°C making it ideal for external as well as internal installations.

Meanwhile, the Marley dBlue acoustic soil and waste system provides quick, hygienic removal of sanitary waste water, whilst the triple layered pipe dramatically reduces the noise generated by the flow of water – making it perfect for multi-occupancy apartment blocks and high specification developments.

The brand strategy follows a restructuring of Marley’s management team to define individual areas of responsibility, as part of a wider team effort. This new focus in the business will help to provide best value as well as clarity in the product offering to its customers.
