TELLING ARCHITECTURAL - VIDURSOLAR Provides PV-Glass Units For Private Conservatories In France

VIDUSOLAR PV-glass is especially indicated for its use as multifunctional element in glazed roof applications. Concretely for terraces and conservatories in private premises it provides several benefits. Additionally, the French feed-in-tariff regulations is benefiting especially small PV applications that are totally architectonically integrated. Due to these incentives the use of BIPV in small private applications in France is quite common.

Thus, VIDURSOLAR is recently focussing, among others, the French private sector and has already provided PV-glass units for two BIPV installations in the broader region Rhone-Alpes. These projects are designed as conservatories with glazed roofs. The PV-glass units have been made on a bespoke basis as a 5+5 safety laminate with polycrystalline PV cells. These units were mounted in a standard aluminium profile traditionally used for the construction of conservatories with conventional glass panes.

VIDURSOLAR PV-glass elements can also be produced as insulating units offering a broad range of possible compositions. The interior glass can be designed as laminate or monolithical glass pane, also a low-e glass can be used. So, U-values, down to 1,1 W/m2K can be achieved. Like this, the requirements for thermal insulation in this kind of applications can be perfectly met.

Regarding the electrical connection of the PV glass units, the customer can choose between a backside junction box or an edge terminal. From the aesthetical point of view, the edge terminal may offer benefits as the connectors and cables are hidden inside the support profiles and cannot be seen after installation.
