VIESSMANN To Highlight The Value Of Heat Pumps At GreenBuild EXPO 2011

Viessmann will use the GreenBuild EXPO 2011 to talk installers and end-users through the opportunities and considerations associated with all renewable heating options. Despite exhibiting a Vitoligno biomass boiler (from the company’s 4 kW to 1,250 kW wood-burning range) in the Ignition section of the show (stand F31), the international manufacturer of heating systems will also use the opportunity to promote the benefits of heat pumps.

The company – which has products for all traditional and renewable fuel types and applications – reports a significant increase in enquiries about biomass since the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) announcement, and is keen to ensure that heat pumps don’t get left out.

“The RHI proposition for biomass was much clearer than for heat pumps, and has resulted in the doubling of customer enquiries for the new build and retrofit markets,” explains Nigel Jefferson. “We have decided to include Viessmann’s popular Vitocal ground source heat pump technology at GreenBuild, because once people have a better overview of the different renewable technologies available, they can conclude when the heat pump is more suited to their application.”

Calculations by Viessmann – which has been manufacturing and installing heat pumps (air, water and ground source, between 1.5 kW and 1 MW) in Europe for almost 30 years – reveal that a ground source heat pump can return a net saving of more than £18,000 over 20 years.
