GENT BY HONEYWELL Vigilon Systems Chosen For Theo Paphitis’ New
Boux Avenue Lingerie Stores
The Fire Industry expert, Gent by Honeywell, has installed its fire alarm
systems into three out of the six newly launched Boux Avenue stores.
Boux Avenue
is an exciting shopping experience both in-store and online for lingerie lovers.
Placing an unrivalled emphasis on detail and fit, the inclusive size range and
outstanding service both in Boux Avenue stores and at www.bouxavenue.comensure
it’s an irresistible lingerie destination.
Launched in April by successful businessman and BBC Dragon’s Den star Theo
Paphitis, the stores situated in Bluewater in Kent, Manchester’s Trafford Centre
and St David’s Centre, Cardiff are equipped with Vigilon Compact Panels and
S-Quad multi sensors, part of Gent’s extensive range of innovative fire
detection equipment.
One of the companies from Gent’s wide network of approved system integrators,
Amsec UK Ltd, worked with electrical contractors Walsh Integrated Building
Services on the project, to design a state of the art robust system which will
provide Boux Avenue’s customers with a safe and unique shopping environment.
Ashley Holt, Director at Amsec, said: “Right from the initial stages we proposed
a design using Gent’s specifiable technology. We knew that the client was
integrating it into shopping centres so the set up involves multiple individual
units connecting into an overall system which is monitored by the shopping
centre. We needed a suitable system which could cope with the different types of
signals and the flexibility of the Gent system made it the ideal choice. The
Vigilon compact panels offer the right programming capabilities, the panels are
designed for smaller sites yet they include all of the features of the bigger
panels”.
Theo Paphitis has announced plans to launch a number of Boux Avenue lingerie and
nightwear stores at various locations across the UK over the next 12 months. The
current stores, which were fitted in March, have all been installed with Vigilon
Compact Panels. The flexible panels are ideal for smaller systems needing up to
two loops and have a simple user interface with LCD screen to provide accurate
information in an emergency. The panels in the Boux Avenue shops were installed
along side S-Quad sensors from Gent’s latest range, they incorporate four
separate technologies in the same sensor that combine to create a range of
sensing appropriate for different environments. Every S-Quad sensor has a
configurable monitored input. This can be used instead of an interface saving on
installation and product costs.
Amsec UK ltd, an electronic fire and security company based in North Wales was
recently appointed as an approved systems integrator. Initial feedback from the
client suggests that the stores’ electrical systems have been very well
received.
Martyn Keenan, Gent Business Development Manager, North West, “The fire alarm
system is one of the most vital components in any building to ensure the safety
of both employees and customers and the quality and reliability of the Gent
systems will provide a suitable fire alarm solution to meet the extremely high
standards of the Boux Avenue stores. In the early negotiations we weren’t aware
of who owned the Boux Avenue chain. We’re delighted to be working with Amsec on
such a prestigious project and I’m sure the shops will be a great success with
someone like Theo Paphitis at the helm.”
