TREND - Quick & Easy Installation Of Trend Mosaics & Agglomerates

Italian tilemaker Trend has launched a series of innovative quick-fit systems that will make glass mosaics easier and faster to install and agglomerates slabs as easy to lay as click-together parquet flooring. Introduced under the Trend2Go umbrella and available soon from Trend GB stockists, these new installation techniques are being hailed as genuine ‘industry firsts’ that will make it quicker and easier to cover large or small surface areas, in the process reducing finished tiling and flooring costs. By eliminating some of the more tricky techniques and most opportunities for mistakes and inaccuracies, Trend2Go also enhances the quality of the final result, making it possible to achieve a superior finish 100% of the time.

Developed at Trend’s Italian headquarters over the past two and a half years and embodying the tile laying and cutting expertise of its master technicians, the Trend2Go concept covers three main systems: Easy2Go for regular 2cm square mosaic tiles in pre-grouted modules, Smart2Go for covering large surfaces with 126cm long mosaic sheets, and Clip2Go for laying agglomerate flooring without adhesives.

“For well over a century, laying and grouting glass mosaic tiles has been regarded as a painstaking, time-consuming task that demanded a considerable level of skill,” says Trend GB Sales Director, Tom Anderson. “With our Easy2Go and Smart2Go systems, we haven’t entirely deskilled the process, but we have certainly made it faster and easier, putting glass mosaics on a par with large ceramic tiles in installation terms. Then with Clip2Go we have applied the popular clip-together parquet floor system to tough, hardwearing granite, quartz or glass agglomerate flooring.

“On domestic and commercial installations, including exterior façades and swimming pools, it means greatly reduced working times, less building downtime and enhanced quality of the finished result, every time,” he adds. “If you previously considered authentic glass mosaic tiles too fiddly and costly to fit, then this brings them right back into the equation.”

The regular 2cm x 2cm (¾”) tile size is the most popular mosaic format and is covered in the Trend range by the extensive Vitreo, Brillante, Shining (VBS) fused glass collection, the unique, aspirational Aureo 24 carat gold line, and the cutting edge Feel eco-friendly series. With Easy2Go, these mosaics are supplied ready mounted and pre-grouted on 31cm x 31cm modular sheets, each containing 225 individual tiles, meaning that tile placement is extremely accurate and no subsequent grouting or cleaning is necessary. Single colours, standard mosaic mixes and shading blends are available under the Easy2Go system, at no extra cost.

Trend’s Smart2Go extends that efficient tile laying system to covering larger surfaces even faster, by combining eight 31cm2 Easy2Go mosaic sheets on a polyethylene support mattress, measuring 126cm x 63cm and containing 1800 individual tiles. As with the smaller module, Smart2Go is suitable for applying to flat and curved surfaces, both inside and out, it embraces the same Trend 2cm2 mosaic collections and is perfect when installing large quantities of tiles in a very short time, such as on swimming pools and feature walls.

Clip2Go broadens the quick-fit concept to Trend’s tough, hardwearing and slip-resistant agglomerate flooring, which is made from either Italian granite, quartz or post-consumer recycled glass, blended with 5% high performance polymer resin. This rugged material is only 6.7mm thick and is supplied pre-mounted on interlocking panels measuring 120cm x 15cm, which click together and enable rapid laying of agglomerate flooring without adhesives. Similar in format to regular floor boards and available in a choice of colours, these agglomerate panels offer an elegant flooring solution and the Clip2Go system also makes them perfect for temporary installations, since they can be subsequently dismantled.
