FORTICRETE - Guinness Northern Counties Looks To Forticrete For The Perfect Finish

Having specified Forticrete’s popular Gemini roof tile across many of its developments over the years, Guinness Northern Counties Association decided to further enhance the benefits provided by this product by incorporating Forticrete’s full Dry Fix Verge System onto its new housing development in Cudworth, Barnsley.

The site, which had previously been occupied by a decommissioned sheltered housing scheme, is now home to nine of Guinness’s new bungalows, which in addition to incorporating the award winning Gemini roof tile, also include Forticrete’s full dry verge system. This cutting-edge solution from Forticrete has been designed to provide a virtually maintenance free detail at the ridge and verge.

Forticrete’s Gemini interlocking plain tiles have been specifically designed to replicate the look and feel of traditional plain tiles, therefore maintaining the appearance of a traditional plain tile roof. They have 40% less CO2 emissions per m2 roof and improved coverage, using less tiles per m2 making it a much more cost effective solution.

As well as being extremely energy efficient, these next generation roofs tiles are aesthetically pleasing, easy-to-install and high in quality. They feature increased tile strength and an even stronger, tighter interlock as standard and because they are easy to install, the cost to lay them is also significantly reduced.

Forticrete’s Dry Fix Verge System, which is suitable for new build or re-roofing applications, eliminates the need for traditional wet bedded mortar verges and verge clipping that cannot be relied upon to provide a completely robust finish.

It has been specifically developed to compliment the Forticrete’s popular Minislate and Gemini twin interlocking plain tiles.

The system is quick and easy to install and does away with all the standard metal verge clips associated with mortar bedding, replacing them with a maintenance free solution.
