WEATHERITE BUILDING SERVICES - School Training Kitchen Gets Fresh Approach

Weatherite Building Services (WBS) has provided a state-of-the-art extraction system for the new student kitchen at King Edwards VI Camp Hill Schools in Birmingham.

Among the top performing schools in the UK, the Camp Hill campus comprises two schools for girls and boys aged 11-18. The new technology building, which is shared between both schools, includes a practical cookery facility for Food Technology students.

Speller Metcalfe was the main contractor for the extensive work undertaken within the school and WBS was chosen by consultant engineers, Briars Associates, to carry out and project manage the training kitchen programme, which included installation of supply and extraction ventilation system together with air conditioning (Heat Pumps), cassettes, condensers and refrigerant pipe work. The work also included various associated M & E services such as internal and external water and gas supply pipe work/mains, fire mains and water heaters.
