MARSHALL-TUFFLEX ENERGY MANAGEMENT - Energy Event To Showcase
New MTEM Launches
Energy saving specialist Marshall-Tufflex Energy Management will be exhibiting
its full portfolio of products at the Energy Event (Stand 2824), including its
newly launched domestic voltage optimisation system and a wireless sub-metering
solution, both of which have already created much interest in the market.
Voltis Home represents a major step forward in domestic voltage optimisation,
delivering all the benefits of Marshall-Tufflex Energy Management’s established
Voltis commercial system but in a ‘mini’ version suitable for the home or
buildings with electrical supplies of up to 60Amps. For domestic users this
means electricity savings of as much as 18% are realistic and possible, which
equates to as much as £150 per year for the average three-bed semi occupied by a
family of four, based on today’s average electricity prices.
Voltage optimisation is not a new technology – Marshall-Tufflex Energy
Management already supplies systems to a wide range of commercial and industrial
customers. It has taken major investment and clever engineering to adapt this
technology for domestic use, enabling householders to take advantage of a highly
effective energy saving method already widely used across a variety of
non-domestic locations. The result is Voltis Home, a ‘next generation’ system
that reduces electricity usage, stabilises power supply and helps prolong the
life of household appliances such as washing machines, fridges and freezers,
tumble dryers, lighting, computers, microwave ovens etc. Voltis Home is
manufactured in the UK and is straight-forward to fit – a qualified electrician
can usually complete the task within an hour, with the unit installed between
the electricity meter and the main consumer unit. Every unit has a visual
display which means users can see the savings they are making.
The Voltis commercial/industrial system will also be on display at the Energy
Event, as will the suite of Sinergy sub-metering solutions, including new-launch
Pulse Plus, a wireless sub-metering product.
This GSM enabled DIN rail unit mounted in a small consumer enclosure covers a
range of 10-5,000Amps using Sinergy clip-to-cable or Flexeclamp CTs. Pulse Plus
will store time and date stamped current, voltage and PF data within its onboard
memory. Data can be extracted at any time via the host PC(s) but it is normal
for a data collection routine to be set up on an automatic daily download basis.
CSV files can be exported to Deltrax 5 graphical energy use analysis software
supplied with Pulse Plus, alternatively EXCEL provides a tabulation of average
KW/KVA demand over a 15 minute integration period with daily KWh totals. MTEM
works closely with third party software houses and will recommend multiple
channel monitoring and targeting software solutions.
A key advantage of Pulse Plus is its ability to measure either single or three
phase loads with only a single phase voltage connection. It then creates the
three phase voltage measurement vectors in a safe, quick and convenient way.
Pulse Plus has created much interest in the market due to its 'remote'
capabilities – it's perfect for monitoring energy usage across geographically
dispersed sites in the same management/ownership, for example retail outlets,
leisure & sport venues and even social housing schemes.
The Energy Event will also showcase the new Sinergy k-Wattch hand-held Energy
Monitor. It’s the little brother of Sinergy e-Tracker and offers a robust and
highly portable mains or battery-operated energy analyser that can measure both
single and three phase devices, giving instant readings or recording and storing
data for download to a USB memory stick. Data can be analysed using Sinergy's
Deltrax software. Its non-invasive 32mm CTs simply clip round cables and monitor
power factor, power, voltage or current, up to 1,000A. It is particularly
relevant for users with no permanent solution for energy monitoring in place and
who require a flexible, portable system that can go virtually anywhere and give
instant readings.
Marshall-Tufflex has recently launched a new website (www.marshalltufflexenergy.com)
to showcase its suite of hi-tech energy saving products. The site contains FAQs
on each system, brochure downloads, videos, news and product case studies,
legislative information and full product photography/graphics.
