GENT BY HONEYWELL Launches Aspiration Products To Suit Every Application

Fire industry expert Gent by Honeywell has launched its first range of Air Sampling Detection (ASD) systems to provide one of the most flexible solutions on the market. The full range of detectors will ensure that businesses can now choose the right detector to match the specific application.

The range of Gent systems provides coverage to comply with the varying levels of sensitivity set out in EN54 part 20. Whether it is very high sensitivity for Class A requirements, enhanced sensitivity for Class B, or normal Class C sensitivity for standard detection – the innovative Gent products meet all of the coverage levels so customers can make a choice based on the precise application.

Gent’s comprehensive solutions include the cost effective Compact ASD for monitoring small to medium spaces providing coverage for up to five rooms; the All-Spec with its high degree of modularity making it an extremely adaptable system; and the fully featured Hi-Spec ASD with a three stage alarm system that provides use of a second detector module to enable one air sampling device to monitor two separate monitored areas.

The Gent range of ASD systems works by taking air samples from the monitored area and analysing them for the presence of smoke particles. The active sampling technology enables the identification of a possible fire in its very earliest stages from just 1 gram of material combustion. Other key features include LOGIC.SENS fire pattern recognition to enable a high degree of false alarm immunity, as well as a smoke level display in bar graph form and a broad range of accessories approved to EN54-20.

The systems provide coverage for a full variety of applications. These include detecting extremely dilute concentrations of smoke in controlled areas such as clean rooms and special fire detection in areas with items such as electrical cabinets. It can also be used for general detection in areas where normal point systems wouldn’t be suitable, for example in the ceiling voids of historic buildings. The Hi-Spec and All-Spec ASDs also have silent versions available for noise controlled buildings such as libraries, and freezer versions suitable for monitoring in deep freeze storage facilities.

Our products provide the most cost effective solution on the market as customers can choose the detector to match the application. Each of the Gent systems allow for easy pipework planning, with flexible configurations and forgiving pipework lengths. The ASDs are all supported by the PipeXpress design software tool which looks at the sensitivity of the device, the length of the pipework, and the number of sampling points, to ensure that the class of sensitivity the system provides conforms to EN54 part 20.

Cooper concluded: “In addition to the high pipework capacity, the systems are also extremely straightforward to install and allow for time saving commissioning through Plug and Play – so it can be simply switched on and is easy to programme. The ASDs also have a very simple design tool, just five mouse clicks and you can confirm compliance to EN54 part 20.”
