HANSON UK - New Multicem Waterproof Packaging Is Bags Better

Hanson UK’s Multicem cement is now available in waterproof packaging, making it easier to use and reducing wastage.

The plastic packaging means that the product does not need to be covered or stored in a dry place on site, saving builders time and money. The new bags are also easier to open and handle and pour the cement powder more smoothly.

Multicem is a high quality, high performance air-entrained*packed cement suitable for use in concrete, mortar, render and screed offering improved workability and resistance to frost.

Hanson UK’s national marketing manager Paul Lacey said: “The new Multicem plastic bags are less likely to tear than the traditional plastic-lined paper ones, creating less mess and reducing wastage by up to 10 per cent.

“The plastic packaging is also easier to recycle and the added strength means that they can be used as rubble sacks.”

* air entrained cement improves frost resistance, workability and durability as it creates microscopic air cells that allow for the expansion of water when it freezes. Using air-entrained cement removes the need to add air-entraining admixtures to the concrete mix.
