CATNIC - Strength With Catnic

The strength and durability of Catnic’s steel lintels have recently been utilised in the construction of the Medical Centre in Corfe Castle, Dorset. A total of 43 lintels have been used to provide support above both internal and external doors.

The company’s CN5XA and CN6XC Classic Box lintels were used to provide support above the internal doors. The CN5XA is a standard duty lintel and the CN6XC is a heavy-duty option. Both lintel products are for use with 100mm internal solid walls and can be used for both internal partitions and loadbearing walls. Accommodating different loads and openings, the CN5XA and CN6XC also boast a built-in plaster key and duplex corrosion protection.

External door support was provided with Catnic’s CN99/1644C, Classic Box Cavity Wall lintel. This wide outer leaf cavity wall lintel is a standard duty lintel. The product boasts a built-in damp proof course (DPC), built in plaster key, duplex corrosion protection and integral insulation.

The lintels were installed by Acheson Construction Ltd. Aaron Halcrow, Procurement Manager for Acheson Construction commented, “Catnic’s steel lintels are of the highest standard. They are extremely easy to work with and provide exceptional design, thermal efficiency and corrosion protection.”

All of Catnic’s lintels have gained the approval of the regulatory authorities both in the domestic and international market assuring designers, specifiers and builders the high quality of the product. With this, they are designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with BS EN 845-2:2003 and are certified by the British Board of Agrément.
