CATNIC - Bespoke Lintels Meet Creative Design
 Catnic, the pioneer for steel lintels, has recently provided 142 lintels for
Dunboyne Court, a new Sanctuary Care independent living complex in St Marychurch,
Torquay. The project required both curved on plan and corner lintels, which
would not only meet the design requirements but also the load capacity for the
building.
Dunboyne Court is a 45-apartment complex, which enables its residents to not
only live independently in their own home but have support on hand as their care
needs change over time. The Sanctuary Group development, built by main
contractor Leadbitter Group, was delivered in partnership with Torbay Council
and Torbay Care Trust.
The project’s lintel solution needed to be one that was both cost-effective and
could be delivered within the project’s time constraints. What’s more, the
designs needed to meet two requirements, in particular, incorporating radial
designs.
Catnic’s technical support team boasts the breadth of knowledge and expertise to
design lintels for the most creative of openings, with in-house facilities to
manufacture lintels to suit any configuration.
The curved on plan lintels are part of Catnic’s Special Lintels range. The
range’s innovative bespoke designs can be manufactured to the customer’s own
specified radius, so the degree of curve and tolerance can be precisely
calculated and delivered accordingly. Once drawings are received and approved
Catnic’s dedicated team is able to deliver the lintels to site within 10 days.
For Dunboyne, the curved lintels were installed above the ground floor window
wall in the communal lounge.
Catnic’s Corner Lintels, which are also part of the Special Lintels range,
enable an appearance of unspoiled window openings on two perpendicular walls of
a room. The lintels come complete with support posts and base plate. Again, the
lintels are available in just 10 working days from receipt of the order and
approved drawing.
