SANDTOFT - Bloor Homes Tops Off New Apartments With Sandtoft’s Solar Roofing System

One of the UK’s leading housebuilders has chosen Sandtoft’s PV48 solar roofing system for a new development incorporating nine apartments in Hailsham, East Sussex.

Bloor Homes selected the PV48 system to help the properties achieve Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes and ensure an aesthetic appearance. A total of 18 solar panels with matching flashings have been used on the roof and integrated with Sandtoft’s concrete plain tiles.

Dan Thimann, technical surveyor at Bloor Homes said: “Compared to other solar products we have used before, the PV48 was more aesthetically appealing and competitively priced. It integrates seamlessly with the roof tiles and we are very pleased with the overall appearance of the roof, which is in keeping with the rest of the development. We hope to use the PV48 system again on future sites.”

Supplied as a complete system and ready to fit, Sandtoft’s PV48 has been designed to be installed by any roofing contractor. As there is no need for a separate solar installer, housebuilders and developers can save time and money.

Daniel Rayment from Bracknell Roofing, who was one of the roofers that installed the system on behalf of Bloor Homes, commented: “We were trained by Sandtoft on site and found the process very straightforward. We only required assistance to fit the first set of panels and were then able to complete the rest of the installation without any further support from Sandtoft.”
