GILBERTS (BLACKPOOL) - Series 54 The Third Evolution Of Gilberts’ Popular Smoke Evacuation Damper

Keeping pace with fast changing smoke and fire test standards the damper has undergone a complete redevelopment programme benefiting from the latest production technologies and assembly processes.

As a result, with Series 54, Gilberts offer an all new damper that not only meets latest test standard requirements but also offers its best ever value.

The unit enjoys a convincingly lower cost regime than its predecessor without cutting any corners or compromising in either performance or design.

The Series 54 smoke damper range has been designed to satisfy smoke ventilation applications and is particularly suited for smoke evacuation shafts and risers in multi storey buildings. Our multi, parallel linked blade smoke damper unit is manufactured from robust 1.5 mm galvanised steel and is tested to the requirements of EN1366 Pt 2 for 1 hour. Usefully the damper combines both a low leakage rate, when closed, with a high free area, when open, to support high smoke evacuation rates.

All Series 54 dampers are fitted with a Belimo actuator to offer either a powered motor open/close or failsafe spring return open/closed actuation according to requirements, and is available for opening sizes ranging from 400 x 400 to 1000 x 2000. Effectively this means the largest size damper can provide up to 1.5m2 of free area.

For aesthetic finishing, the damper face can be powder coated to a stock RAL colour with an optional cover plate also fitted to disguise the motor. Alternatively dampers can be masked with a fixed blade type cover grille with blades angled at 40° for virtual full damper masking. These cover grilles can be face screw fixed or concealed fixed according to preference.
