HITACHI Wins ‘Heating Manufacturer Of Year’ Award With Yutaki-M

Hitachi Europe has won 'Heating Manufacturer of the Year', at the InstallerLive Awards 2011, for its innovative Yutaki-M air source heat pump.

The judges said that Hitachi provided an “excellent submission, a great product and the way forward”. The award category was open to all companies engaged in the manufacture of heating technology for the UK market and judging criteria included the effectiveness of the product offering and the level of after-sales support provided.

The InstallerLive team added that competition was extremely high, with entries from nearly every key organisation in plumbing and heating.

Almost 600 professionals from the industry gathered for the awards at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel. They heard about Yutaki-M and the other award-winning products, projects and performance across the sector.

Hitachi’s Yutaki heat pumps transform energy from the air outside into heat, meaning every 1kW of electricity used to power the heat pump can provide up to 5kW of energy in a well-insulated home. This can reduce heating bills by up to 60% and cut CO2 emissions by 50%, compared to traditional boiler-led systems.

The Yutaki range can be connected to underfloor heating, convectors, radiators and domestic hot water tanks. Hitachi’s Yutaki-M single unit heat pumps have Microgeneration Certification Scheme approval and are available with outputs from 5kW to 17kW and from only 800mm high.

Martin Richards, UK and Ireland National Manager for Hitachi, said: “We are delighted to receive this award. Yutaki is very energy efficient and, with the Renewable Heat Premium Payment (RHPP) scheme - along with a VAT rate of 0% for new build and 5% in retro fit applications, Yutaki represent a great opportunity to update an existing heating system, or incorporate as part of a new installation.”
