POLYPIPE - Construction Of New Luxury Hotel Benefits From Polypipe Terrain’s Wide Product & Service Offering

The construction of the first new-build luxury hotel to be developed in central London in almost 40 years is benefiting from Polypipe Terrain’s wide selection of products and services.

The UK’s largest British-owned plastic piping systems manufacturer was called on by building services engineers, Briggs & Forrester, to supply prefabricated Terrain FUZE soil stacks and Terrain PVC soil and waste drainage to the 10-storey, 5-star Knightsbridge Palace Hotel.

Terrain’s prefabricated FUZE soil stacks are particularly well-suited to hotels and other buildings that require repeat pipe work configurations, and have previously been used on many other prestigious developments in the UK. Together with Terrain’s PVC soil and waste drainage products they are helping create a reliable and maintenance-free system, which offers the benefits of rapid installation, a high degree of product quality and proven performance.

Tim Mills, Lead Project Manager at Briggs & Forrester comments: “With a site footprint of only 1,100m2, Polypipe Terrain’s ability of offer a bespoke, off-site prefabricated drainage solution was a key reason why we placed an order with them, as it would significantly reduce the quantity of individual piping components which would need to be installed in the restricted work area. Having worked successfully with them in the past, we were certain that they would be able to deliver on both quality and customer service.”

The Knightsbridge Palace Hotel will open its doors in 2012 on the site of the former Normandie Hotel, overlooking Knightsbridge Green in the heart of London.
