DULUX TRADE Launches New Light & Space Colour Card

Dulux Trade has unveiled a new and improved colour card for its revolutionary colour range, Light & Space. Following a complete refresh, the handy tool now has an easy-to-digest layout, updated photography, and more detailed technical information, making it easier for users to confidently advise their customers on the many benefits of the light-enhancing offering.

The updated colour card features sample swatches of the 26 harmonious shades within the Light & Space palette, which range from the palest of yellows to cool, calm aquamarine. What’s more, users will find at-a-glance product information for the variety of Dulux Trade finishes available within the Light & Space colour range, including recent additions, such as Ecosure Matt, Diamond and Vinyl Matt.

“When developing the new Light & Space colour card, we wanted to create a tool that gave users all the information they need, without overloading them with too much detail,” said Hazel Shelmerdine, Brand Manager for Dulux Trade Light & Space. “As such, this new tool is quick and easy to read, and gives appliers and specifiers the support they need to be able to talk about Light & Space knowledgably and confidently.”

A key enhancement to the new-look brochure is a jargon-free outline of the unique benefits of Light & Space. In particular, it summarises how, on average, the range absorbs 50 per cent less light than conventional emulsion paint, helping to make rooms feel bigger, brighter and less gloomy, and the key environmental qualities of collection, including its ability to save lighting energy by around 22 per cent (see note below).

Hazel continues: “It’s not enough for contractors or specifiers to just help their customers pick out a nice colour. Building owners now expect a more holistic service, such as advice on which products should be used where and the reasons behind these recommendations. This is why we’ve launched the improved Light & Space colour card, so that professionals can be armed with the information they need when explaining the advantages of this pioneering range to their customers.”

Note: The energy savings will not always equate to 22 per cent. They will vary depending on the contents, dimensions and floor colour of the room and will differ if lighting in particular areas needs to be controlled. The calculated figure varies from 14 per cent to 28 per cent depending on the wall colour chosen. The actual light energy savings achieved in practice may differ from the calculations.
