HONEYWELL CONTROL SYSTEMS - Heating Industry Comes Together To Support Charity

Leading heating controls specialist, Honeywell, has joined together with other heating and plumbing organisations to support the charity ‘Sparrowfields’ - part of Shaw Healthcare - with a fundraiser golf event to support Autistic Adults.

The charity golf day was organised by Honeywell and by plumbing specialist Coalway Mechanical and disability living adaption specialist AKW Medicare. The event raised an impressive £6000 for the charity.

The jam packed day involved a variety of golf competitions at Patshull Park in Shropshire. Fundraising events included; ‘two’s competition’ where contributors donated money for scoring a gross 2 any hole. Plumbing and heating engineers E.P Lynch donated a prize for the winner of ‘fire at the pin’ which raised £500. A further £1000 was raised for ‘name on a note’ where the winner won a golf caddy worth £350 courtesy of Graham Gough.

The day come to a close with various donations across the industry contributing to a charity auction, administrated by snooker professional and Strictly Come Dancing star Willie Thorne. Then, to take centre stage ex Manchester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers footballer Steve Daley gave an inspirational speech and congratulated all of those that supported the event.

Steve Jones, sales director at Honeywell comments: “For the plumbing and heating industry the event was very encouraging, this event brightened everyone’s sprits and saw businesses come through and support each other and - most importantly - raise money for a worthy charity.

“The event was a great success especially in light of the £6000 we all raised! We received fantastic feedback from everyone involved and we hope to repeat the event in 2012.”
