SAINT-GOBAIN PAM UK - Ensign Drainage Systems To Be Fitted In State-Of-The-Art Hospital

A brand new, state-of-the-art hospital in Bristol is being fitted with the Ensign cast iron above ground drainage system from iron technology leader Saint-Gobain PAM UK, part of leading international materials company, Saint-Gobain.

Manchester-based DSSR, specifiers for the new Southmead Hospital, selected Ensign - for the six-storey hospital building based on its longevity, proven sound deadening qualities, high temperature resistance and excellent fire resistance performance.

The Ensign system is being supplied through Wolseley Drain Center and is being installed by plumbing contractor KS Barry of Cardiff at the 800-bed, £430 million hospital project. The Ensign system is being used for both the sanitary soil and rainwater functions.

Set to open in 2014, Southmead Hospital is a PFI project involving Carillion Healthcare and Crown House Technologies and will replace two old district hospitals. It has been designed to be one of the most environmentally-friendly buildings in the country.
