TERASAKI - TemPower 2 AR ACB - Contact Temperature Monitoring

Terasaki’s TemPower 2 Air Circuit Breaker offers real time contact temperature monitoring through its AGR-B Protection Relay.

Electronic overcurrent relays provide detection and protection of current flow however these relays alone cannot detect temperature associated with an overcurrent till now!

This optional protection function monitors the temperature of each phase within the ACB’s main contact structure. The AGR protection relay indicates when the temperature exceeds a prescribed limit. This indication can be user defined to select a trip/alarm, monitor/ alarm or just monitor function.

Continuous monitoring of the contact temperature provides valuable information for BMS, preventative and predictive maintenance programs.

Overheating protection adds extra levels of safety to a system as heat/fire are one of the main reasons for switchboard failures.
