Fire Alarms - Fire Detection Alarm Systems - Wireless Alarms
Fire industry expert Gent by Honeywell has extended its
range of fire detection system interface units so that the
Vigilon System meets all of the connection requirements
demanded by today’s fire detection and alarm industry.
The new Mains Powered Interface (MPI) and Mains Switching
units are all EN54 compliant interfaces that offer both
flexible connectivity and control options.
These products are the latest additions to Gent’s range of
interface units which are available to connect the fire
detection system either with other detection equipment, or
to control plant and fire protection equipment such as
conventional detection zones, sprinklers and door release
units.
The Vigilon Mains Powered Interface units provide an
integrated solution for sites to meet the fundamental
requirements of BS7273 part 4 2007, the code of practice
governing door holders and door release mechanisms. Vigilon
offers a compliant solution with a mains powered interface,
it includes the latest software and ensures that no further
equipment is needed as interface outputs can be configured
to be both Category A or B door release outputs.
The two new Mains Powered Interface products also provide a
solution to Intrinsically Safe applications which is more
cost effective and far simpler to integrate with the Vigilon
product range. The Intrinsically Safe devices can be
connected directly into the control modules contained within
the unit without the need for additional enclosures and
power supplies.
The other additions to the interface range are the loop
powered Mains Switching Interface (MSI) units that connect
directly to the Vigilon system. The interface units provide
heavy duty relay switching for both 24V and 230V
applications with contacts rated at 13A. They are
particularly suitable for controlling fire damper control
units and extraction fans which require a high contact
rating for mains switching.
This range comprises of two versions – a single interface
and a four channel interface. Both variants offer superior
functionality and flexible configuration of outputs to suit
a wide range of applications. They control outputs and
monitor inputs simultaneously and provide configurable delay
to filter noise and spurious signals.
Lee Tuplin, Product Manager, Gent by Honeywell said: “These
interfaces provide the ideal, cost effective solution for
our customers. They are simpler to use and offer highly
adaptable connectivity and control options as well as being
fully compliant to all of the industry’s safety standards.”
