Bosch reports success at IFSEC 2006
Bosch President sites massive shift in IP demand
Bosch Security Systems is reporting an excellent
response to its technologies on show at the recent IFSEC
2006, with tangible enquiries from a quality
cross-section of installers, consultants and end-users
interested in its CCTV, intruder and Communications
technologies. A number of new products made their debut
at the exhibition and one which was of particular
interest to the show’s visitors was the new Dinion IP –
Bosch’s proven Dinion camera with integrated IP network
connection.
In a presentation made to key customers and invited
guests to Bosch’s stand BSS President, Uwe Glock
addressed the speed of adoption and future of IP and
Network Video Solutions: “We recognised that there would
be a fundamental shift towards IP in the CCTV market and
in July 2004 we acquired VCS AG, a market leader in the
field of network based video product.
We now have a well-established Competence Centre for IP
Network Video and have made big investments in research
and developments. This is being evidenced here today by
the new Dinion IP Cameras and in the coming months we
will be introducing even more IP Cameras and Video
Content Analysis to the market.
“At IFSEC 2005 there was a high level of academic
interest in IP Video Solutions and a small number of
high profile projects were in the pipeline. However, now
in 2006 we are seeing a massive shift, and as this shift
occurs we feel that Bosch is ideally placed, in terms of
products, solutions and support, to be the ideal
Security IP Video Surveillance Partner.
“As technology advances and the industry continues to
evolve,” Uwe concluded, “Bosch will still hold true to
its core values of building quality and reliable
products which is fundamental in building people’s
loyalty and trust in us.”
The new Dinion IP cameras combine all the benefits and
reliability of the Dinion range which was first launched
in 2002 with a network video server that transmits video
and controls data over an IP network. Dinion IP cameras
offer customers a hybrid solution as they can be
connected to existing analogue CCTV equipment, whilst
still offering the additional flexibility and
scalability of IP-based CCTV systems.
The Dinion IP and DinionXF IP cameras have in-built
intelligent functionality, like alarm management with
relay output, event handling, alarm input and motion
detection. Dinion IP is fully compliant including IEEE
802.3af compliant Power-over-Ethernet (PoE).
Bosch, this year had a new stand design with a
purpose-built demo-suite giving product managers the
opportunity to explain and demonstrate the technology.
In addition to Dinion IP, Bosch took the opportunity of
promoting a wide range of different technologies
including Abacus Evolution, an innovative intruder alarm
panel range; Blue Line, a new generation of
aesthetically-designed, high technology intrusion
detectors; the Connetix range of security communication
products for intrusion and fire systems; the DiBos 8
family of powerful, network-orientated digital video
surveillance and recording systems; and also on show
were a number of new public address and voice evacuation
products.
Commenting on the success of the show, Jeremy Hockham,
UK Managing Director of Bosch Security Systems,
concluded: “IFSEC has been a resounding success; we are
delighted with the volume and quality of enquiries. The
show is the perfect place to showcase our total security
solutions capability and introduce new products into our
well-proven range of reliable intruder, CCTV and
communication technologies.”
