TCUK launches new concept air handling unit

Toshiba Carrier UK (TCUK) has launched a new air handling unit under the Carrier brand name. The Airostar 39SQ as the range, will be designated, represents a new approach for the company. Following the launch of its modular Airovision 39HQ air handling unit range eighteen months ago, the new 39SQ is conceived as an ‘easy to specify’, ‘quick to manufacture and deliver’, selection from that range. It is a stand-alone set of six standardized models taken from the most popular part of the 39HQ range.

Once in full production it is anticipated that these models could be available in as little as two weeks following approval to manufacture. “This sort of service will be regarded as quite remarkable within the industry and will be a very attractive offer,” declared Tony Millard UK Sales Director for Carrier Air Handling products.

“Speed of delivery will be the major attraction but so will quality of build, at prices typical of non custom-built products. Retained from the HQ range are the 60 mm panels and the completely smooth internal surfaces, ensuring that these Airostar units will be easy to clean and maintain,” continued Millard.

The 39SQ will suit many medium-sized UK air distribution requirements. It offers air flows between 0.4 - 4.7 m3/s. There are many standard situations that call for air handling but don’t require high spec customized solutions. An average size classroom has a surface of approximately 70 m2 and a volume of around 200 m3. A standard office has a surface of approximately 10 m2 with a volume of around 30 m3.

Carrier, known for its quality in this market, has responded to these standard market requirements. Six sizes are available in this range with different standard configuration options. To optimize the cooling or heating capabilities of any system, all models can be easily and perfectly matched to the popular Carrier 30RA Aquasnap compact chiller.

The air handling range is designed and manufactured at the Carrier Holland Heating factory in the Netherlands renowned for the quality of its engineering.
