Dean & Bowes books library upgrade at University of Cambridge

Dean & Bowes has been awarded a c. £820K project from the University of Cambridge to upgrade and refurbish four floors of the Faculty of Modern & Medieval Languages. The project is being carefully phased to enable the Faculty to maintain occupation of the grade II listed building on Sidgwick Avenue throughout the refurbishment programme.

A major element of the project will see Dean & Bowes relocate the Faculty's existing library from the third to the second floor, with all work scheduled around designated quiet study times. By rationalising space on these two floors, the company will also create additional office capacity. A new enlarged book lift will be installed within the building, the lobby area refurbished, Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and fire separation works carried out. The project is due to commence mid-May with completion expected by mid-September.
