Tunewell introduce the Insignia range of high frequency fluorescent sign ballasts

I have great pleasure, introducing you to the latest innovation from Tunewell Transformers, the Insignia range of high frequency fluorescent sign ballasts.

With the new European directive (2000/55/EC) now in place banning the majority of magnetic ballasts and geartrays (Celma class C and D) we have designed two electronic ballasts specifically for use within signs.

The Insignia 100 ballast range is rated at IP65, and can therefore be mounted outdoors independently. They are a high energy instant start design that can power multiples of lamps in series up to 86 watts total load. The Insignia INS-1-A20 will run all T5 HE lamps while the Insignia INS-1-A31 powers all T8 and some T5HO lamps.

The range also has the capability of providing Automatic Lamp Replacement (ALR), striking up spare lamps when the original fails, thus at least doubling time between maintenance calls. Given that all Insignia ballasts are designed to have a service life of over 100,000 hours in temperatures ranging from -20/+50°C, withstanding mains transients of 3kA (Zone B), this provides the perfect solution for illuminated signs.

These ballasts add to the range of Insignia 100 converters for neon and cold cathode lighting. Available with output currents of 25, 50 and 200mA, the units are also rated to IP65, and are rapidly becoming the standard product for both indoor and outdoor neon.
