Have you ever wondered why some Roof Vents leak and others don’t?

To coincide with the launch of their new GlazaTherm™ Roof Ventilator, Lonsdale have published a guide entitled “Important Questions To Ask Any Roof Vent Manufacturer”. The questions are aimed to put manufacturers ‘on the spot’ and help designers and installers choose which vents have the necessary features to prevent leaks and offer durability for their clients.

Unreliable vents can prove costly due to the amount of ‘call-backs’ that installers might have to make in order to carryout remedial work to prevent persistent leaks, never mind damaging relationships with customers. The guide gives advice on what to look for in a vent to avoid such problems and further information about opening mechanisms, thermal performance and airflow. The different materials commonly used throughout the industry are assessed including pvcu and thermally broken aluminium using both the resin and the latest polyamide methods.

Side hung is also an option where access may be required.
