The Grandstand at Royal Ascot Racecourse has used Autoflow to supply and commission a bespoke water softening plant to supply the hot water system

GM/Autoflow have just completed the supply and commissioning of a bespoke water softening plant to supply the hot water system in the new Grandstand at Royal Ascot Racecourse as part of its 185 million pound rebuild programme.

The Grandstand, the largest of its type anywhere in Europe, is part of a major redevelopment program with state of the art facilities second to none and this extends to our high quality treatment plant designed to offer 24 hour high quality soft water at a flow rate of up to 36m³ per hour to cope with even the largest of events.

Due to the complexity of the plant room design, we had to design the system using a “quad” system consisting of, as the name suggests, of four resin vessels operating as a “three in service, one on standby” configuration to ensure continuity of service whilst incorporating the tight space restrictions.

As part of our specialist service, we have been involved from the original specification and planning stage, through liaising with contractors, supply and building on site and a commissioning service and the unit will now be handed over to our service department for service and warranty maintenance.

We are involved in many of these types of projects throughout the U.K and are the water treatment consultants and suppliers to a large number of leading building service companies and M&E contractors.
