Eco-Friendly Flooring Designs

A strong geometric flooring design has been created using the diverse colours and marbled effects available within the Veneto Linoleum range by Tarkett-Marley Floors Ltd. The pattern was recreated to carefully match the original flood-damaged floorcovering of the music room corridors at Cherwell School in Oxford.

Sherfield Flooring Ltd is the specialist flooring contractor assigned by the Property Surveyor from Oxfordshire County Council. “The school required a like-for-like floorcovering to closely match the flooring type and design of the original Linoleum,” explains Keith Eighteen from Sherfield Flooring. “We selected the 2mm Veneto Linoleum because of the wide choice of colours and the skills of Floorcraft, Marley Floors design team, to cut and match to the original design.
The product also benefits from a revolutionary new protective coating, XF that provides extra protection against scratches and marks.”

Chris Pomroy is the Site Manager at Cherwell School. He comments, “We are very happy with the new floor and the design is identical to the original pattern. The colours and design brighten up the corridor areas around the music rooms. The protective coating provides an easy to maintain surface and just requires a quick buff to keep the flooring looking great.”

Veneto Linoleum is available in 2mm, 2.5mm or 3.2mm thickness for light, medium of heavily trafficked areas. The material is made from renewable raw materials in the form of linseed oil, resin, wood flour and cork flour making it ecologically friendly. Linoleum has a smooth and warm surface, so extremely comfortable underfoot, and resistant to indentation, abrasion and cigarette burns. Inherent natural properties include excellent acoustics, fire resistance and anti-bacteria, for reduced cleaning and maintenance.
