Go with the Flow

Twyford Bathrooms, part of the Sanitec group, has introduced Flow, a new contemporary bathroom range to its core over the counter collection that will set new standards of design for the trade bathroom sector – forever.

Designed by the award winning Iranian architect and designer, Hadi Teherani, Flow is an exercise in visionary design combined with optimized installation and hygiene technology that sets new standards in the trade sanitaryware sector.

Derived from a mix of architectural and natural influences, Flow takes as its central theme the natural principle of the wave and seeks to unite areas within the bathroom using organically fluid forms. The resulting collection has none of the usual edges or corners associated with conventional sanitaryware. Because they are the same depth as a standard tile at every point that they are fitted to the wall, all products offer a complete and unbroken line and the sense that they ‘flow’ from the wall.

Yet despite its high profile designer and innovative features, Flow will be sold as a mid range suite and as part of the Twyford core collection, responding to customers’ expectations that good design needs to be affordable.

The stars of the Flow range are undoubtedly the basins. With their strongly organic feel, they form smooth arcs rising and falling from the bathroom wall. This can be used to a particularly stunning effect if positioned side by side in a domestic arrangement or in a series for a commercial specification.

The smooth curves don’t just look good, thanks to their concealed fixings and uninterrupted smooth surface, they can be cleaned quickly and effectively, which is not just a benefit in public areas!

However, Flow is not just about designing something that looks good. Hadi Teherani’s architectural expertise has taught him about how objects interact with each other within a space. As a result Flow is highly functional, incorporating sleek storage areas and allowing for a real of sense of unity through all pieces.

The furniture elements of Flow have a simplicity that belies their high level of design and functionality. Curved handles emerge from drawers much in the same way as the basins emerge from the bathroom wall giving a wonderful sense of continuity to the overall look of the finished room. The handles can also be fitted with optional decorative faceplates in two colours and in the choice of either wood or metal finishes allowing to create a bathroom as individual as the end user.

With a standard floor clearance, flow offers a truly modular bathroom system, allowing total flexibility in choice between the various pieces of sanitaryware and furniture. WCs come in HO Outlet, Back to Wall or Wall Hung, while bidets are either floor standing or wall hung, allowing for even greater customisation options.

With a choice of 5 washbasin sizes (50cm, 60cm, 65cm, 70 cm and 40cm hand rinse) and the option of a full or semi pedestal, Flow offers complete flexibility in realising an array of bathroom schemes. A 60cm semi recessed basin is also available for more commercial applications.

The new Twyford Flow suite with its strong directional design represents a real step change in the type of product being offered through the Merchant channel. Other design focus suites are planned for introduction in 2006.
