Wieland Electric’s gesis® Provides Faster, Economical Installations with Extra Protection

For fast, economical installation with extra protection, Wieland Electric Ltd offers it’s gesis® IP+ pluggable electrical installation. Designed for the safe installation of lighting and other building services components, especially where a high degree of protection is required, the gesis® IP+ system offers ingress protection ratings of IP66 (protection from jet spray water), IP66 (powerful jets of water), IP67 (temporary immersion) and IP68 (continuous submersion for two hours at depths up to three metres). The entire system is designed for a rated current of 20A.

Available in 2, 3,4 or 5 pole connectors, contacts are spring-loaded and mating components are interlocked by simply snapping the parts together; if required, male and female connectors can be separated easily using a screwdriver. Connectors with twin connections are ideal for daisy-chain requirements, as often required in the oil/gas and shipbuilding industries.

A screw version of gesis® IP+ is also available as well as a tool-less unlocking system which is ideal for decorative lighting. Also, there are 4-degree and 20-degree appliance couplers for use when assembling lighting luminaires. System components are suitable for all types of installation. Extensions and additions are quickly implemented on the ‘Lego principle’, reducing any downtime to a minimum and reducing installation times of up to 80%.
