Wieland Supply gesis® Pre-assembled Cables and Connectors to Tofco

Under the terms of a new agreement, Wieland Electric is supplying its gesis® RST 20i3 IP65/IP68 pre-assembled cables and connectors to Newcastle Upon Tyne based Tofco Limited for incorporation in to the company’s popular street furniture range.

Wieland’s gesis® RST 20i system offers 3 and 5 pole connectors with either spring clamp or screw technology, cable assemblies in various lengths and distribution blocks are all pre-assembled and tested ready for use. The system has a current rating of 20 Amp. With only 4 basic modules the system can be connected using the “Lego principle” for quick on-site assembly, thus offering reduced installation times of up to 90% and reduces costs by around 25% whilst fulfilling all the requirements of an economical electrical installation, including an IP65 and IP68 rating.

Newcastle based Tofco are one of the leading suppliers of street lighting equipment in the UK, with a customer base that includes local authorities, government organisations, and international corporations. The company supplies functional and decorative lighting columns, lanterns, photo-cells and floodlighting for projects in many areas, including motorways, rail networks and airports.

Following the partnership announcement, Noel Toft, a director of Tofco, commented “We are delighted with the new agreement with Wieland. Having enjoyed an excellent relationship with them for many years it is a natural progression of our companies’ commitment.”
