Key driver in Airedale success, retires
Former Airedale Group Finance Director Terry
Wetherell has retired after 16 years with the company,
during which time he played a central role in helping
achieve significant growth and prosperity.
Under his financial guidance and discipline, Airedale
grew significantly over his tenure and became a
financially strong company, well positioned for
acquisition by the time former joint managing directors
Alan Duttine and Peter Midgley were ready to retire.
Terry played a central role in the acquisition of
Airedale by US-based Modine Manufacturing Company in May
2005 and in so doing, helped consolidate Airedale as a
viable long-term business, providing stable employment
and opportunity for the workforce into the future.
Airedale employs 360 at its UK headquarters in Leeds,
and 395 worldwide. From its 25,000 m˛ facility in Rawdon,
the company exports air conditioning systems to over 50
countries.
Says Airedale managing director Sam Skobel: “Terry’s
financial expertise helped Airedale thrive in both good
and challenging times. He was a primary force in
bringing Modine and Airedale together and has continued
to play a valuable part in the transition process during
the year since acquisition. As such, it is with great
regret we must say goodbye to a valued member of our
management team, who helped shape Airedale over so many
years.”
