Revit Building Seats Surge as Firms Move to Adopt Industry-Leading BIM Platform

Autodesk has announced that the installed base of Autodesk Revit Building software now exceeds 100,000 seats, due to the speed with which architects and designers around the world are making the move to building information modelling (BIM). Autodesk Revit Building, built specifically for BIM, lets architects and designers work on buildings holistically, rather than in terms of separate floor plans, sections and elevations. With over 100,000 users, it has become one of the most widely adopted solutions for BIM in the building industry

“Autodesk Revit Building has helped us design better buildings and increase client satisfaction by improving communication with our clients and accelerating the decision making process,” says Douglas Palladino, principal, RTKL Associates. “Revit Building automatically co-ordinates work on individual drawings and schedule views across the entire model so our team spends their time thinking about the important aspects of the project, rather than just repeating menial tasks.”

Revit Building is purpose-built for BIM and mirrors the real world of architecture by letting architects and designers work the way they think. Through Revit parametric change technology, any change is automatically co-ordinated throughout a project, including model views, drawing sheets, schedules, sections, plans and renderings – making the design iteration and revision process significantly more streamlined. Revit Building is available as a stand-alone product or as part of the Autodesk AutoCAD Revit Series software bundle, which allows users to adopt BIM at their own pace and begin using the Revit platform without giving up their AutoCAD software.
