New Honeywell TM 300 mixing valves prevents scalding water in
showers, baths, basins and bidets
Honeywell has added the TM300 to its range of
thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs), which prevents
scalding water being delivered from taps and showers.
The TM300 is certified by BuildCert to the TMV2
specification and also by WRAS for use with potable
water. It is one of very few TMV2 valves certified for
use with the full range of bathroom appliances: showers,
washbasins, bidets and bathtubs.
The TM300 is scale-resistant and designed for
“under-bath” installation on both high and low pressure
systems, such as in private and housing association
dwellings, hotels, schools and nursery schools.
The Honeywell TM200VP continues to be available for
installations requiring a higher certified valve (TMV3),
such as in hospitals, NHS and private nursing homes, and
schools for the severely disabled.
The TM300 employs a highly sensitive wax element which
controls the hot and cold water inlets to provide a safe
uniform temperature between 38 and 46 degrees C, as set
by the installer. In addition, it ensures safety by
cutting off the hot water inlet automatically if the
cold supply fails.
The body and connection parts are of chrome-plated
dezincified resistant brass (DZR), with a high impact
resistant clear plastic locking cap. Internal parts are
scale-resistant, manufactured from high temperature
plastic and stainless steel.
The TM300 has 22mm compression fittings and flanged
connector on all three ports. Check valves are also
provided on the hot and cold inlets to prevent cross
circulation when there is a difference in supply
pressure.
Honeywell’s optional RK200H retrofit kit simplifies
TM300 installation when replacing an earlier Honeywell
or another manufacturer’s valve. The kit includes full
instructions.
