Landscaping firm recruits leading international businessman as
chairman
Great Spaces, the national garden design and
installation company, has appointed Brian O’Connor as
chairman.
Born in Belfast, Brian has had a distinguished career,
initially in the travel business but more latterly as a
consultant manager and investor in a variety of emerging
private and public companies.
Great Spaces, which was only established in 2003, was an
award winner in the UK Garden Designer of the Year
category at the Daily Express/New Homes Marketing Board
annual awards last year. It also recently announced the
acquisition of The Bottom Drawer, an internet-based
national alternative wedding gift company.
Brian, who takes up his role as chairman immediately,
has lived and worked in the UK, US, and Hong Kong. He
has founded a number of companies worldwide, most
recently in Ireland. He has also raised significant sums
for companies through both private equity structures and
stock exchange listings.
