Successful grain storage with Poundfield
Appropriate grain storage is a vitally important
aspect of the post-harvest chain, with huge financial
implications for farmers. Yet the volumes of grain that
need to be stored can vary widely from one season and
one year to the next.
This is where Poundfield Products’ unique Alfabloc
storage system for grain is ideal. This is a strong,
robust yet infinitely flexible arrangement that can be
moved and reconfigured according to need. It is easy and
fast to install, has no protruding toe and can be used
freestanding, which makes it extremely adaptable.
Where a sealed and waterproof environment is required,
Poundfield Alfablocs can be fitted with durable and
flexible roofing systems, making this storage system
ideal for use either within existing barns and
outbuildings, or to create additional outdoor storage
facilities.
Since its introduction just seven years ago, Alfabloc
has been the storage option of choice for hundreds of
farmers.
About Poundfield Products
Poundfield Products was created in 1999 to exploit
Alfabloc - a unique walling system that has many
advantages over alternative products. It is easy and
fast to install, has no protruding toe and can often be
used freestanding, which makes it easy to reconfigure
storage spaces.
The company’s L-bloc walling system is unique in its
combination of pre-stressed concrete and interlocking
‘tongue and groove’ joints. The use of pre-stressed
concrete reduces weight and improves strength, while the
interlocking joints make installation quicker and
easier.
Poundfield’s products are used by companies such as
Associated British Ports, British Sugar, Cemex,
Cleanaway, Lafarge, Tarmac and Thames Water, 150 leading
farming operations and over 60 local authorities. The
