Cembrit UK Builds for the Future

Natural Slates - External Cladding - Corrugated Sheeting - Slate Roofing

Cembrit Fibre Cement Slate

Since the new owners took over Cembrit last year, the Danish building materials group has undertaken a comprehensive, strategic shift from its origins manufacturing corrugated sheets to being a service-orientated supplier of many types of fibre-cement building products, specialising in façade solutions. As part of this shift the Cembrit group has also launched a new, international identity that unifies the group’s 17 subsidiaries across Europe and focuses on supporting users of Cembrit in addition to its extensive product portfolio.

Besides providing the market with its comprehensive fibre cement product assortment, Cembrit UK will continue to offer its range of top quality natural slates – a core product for the Cembrit Group and the material that started the company’s activities in the UK in the 1930s. Customers benefit from the personal attention offered by all five regional depots as well as our sales managers and back office staff. Furthermore clients, designers and users can rely on Cembrit’s acknowledged expertise in the sourcing of top quality natural slates for problem free roofing projects. Cembrit UK also is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Managing Director, as well as three customer-facing personnel in London and North Wales. This is the first stage of an investment plan to enhance Cembrit’s customer service in all market sectors.

Cembrit UK’s new Managing Director is Thomas Heldgaard, an MBA qualified professional with experience in UK construction. He is delighted to be joining Cembrit at such an exciting time in its history:
“I am pleased to be joining a company with such a good reputation for extra special service to British roofing and cladding traders with state of the art fibre cement products, and with a wonderful heritage in natural slate which is core to Cembrit Group’s activities,” he comments. “Additionally, for the first time in its history Cembrit has a unified identity and communication strategy across Europe, and I’m really looking forward to transmitting what this represents to our many customers and partners in the UK. Our new brand strapline, Building Better Days, captures the emphasis on service in our approach to the market as well as our understanding of the human element of the design, construction and use of the buildings for which Cembrit products are supplied. The change of presentation signals investment in staff and resources such as our Normanton depot and new website.”

As part of the new investment, Cembrit will be opening a larger branch at its key location in Normanton, West Yorkshire. Already Cembrit’s leading depot for cladding and corrugated sheeting, the outlet will see the investment targeted at its full offering including an increased emphasis on its natural slate offering. The Cembrit range includes the market-leading Canadian Glendyne slate which will be fully showcased at the new, larger Normanton office.
